The History of AGI
Aquent Graphics Institute (AGI) was founded in Lancaster, Pennsylvania in 1994 to provide technical services to printers and publishers.
In its early days, AGI provided regularly scheduled training on electronic publishing applications and web coding long before visual web page editors existed. AGI also provided technical and professional development training to R.R. Donnelley as they implemented their first computer-to-plate imaging systems. AGI assisted more than 200 printers in North America and Europe transition to digital imposition systems (Preps) and computer-to-plate systems from Creo (now Kodak).
AGI quickly added offices in suburban Philadelphia (Blue Bell) and suburban Boston (Woburn) and evolved to provide professional services to communications professionals; magazines, newspapers, marketing departments, advertising agencies, design firms, and corporate communications departments. AGI now offers a full complement of training classes along with consulting and support services for print, Internet, video, and PDF publishing.
In 2007, AGI became a part of Aquent.
