Adobe Post a new app for creating social media graphics
- Published on
Adobe Post is a new app launched today by Adobe Systems that provides an easy way to create images for sharing using social media. Adobe Post is used to prepare images for social media that are used either as stand-alone posts, such as on Pinterest and Instagram, or as images that accompany text and stories on Twitter and Facebook. The new Adobe Post app is available at no cost from Apple’s App Store for use on iPhone and iPad devices, as Adobe is currently offering it only for the iOS platform.
With the launch of Adobe Post it appears that Adobe has recognized that many small businesses and entrepreneurs want to share images but may not need everything that Photoshop offers or want to invest the time to learn Photoshop. For a small business that has image editing needs that only extend as far as sharing images on social media, Adobe Post provides an easy way to accomplish this if you use an iPhone or iPad. The app does not run on Mac or Windows computers, as Adobe likely doesn’t want to cut into their base of Photoshop users. If you work primarily on a desktop or laptop computer and don’t have access to an iOS device, you’ll still need to use Photoshop for creating social media graphics.
Creating Social Media Graphics with Adobe Post
When working with Adobe Post to create social media graphics, the starting point is either an image from the photo library on an iPhone or iPad, a previously saved image from Adobe Lightroom, select from free images made available by Adobe, or purchase an image from Adobe’s stock photo service, Creative Cloud images. Once an image has been selected, it can then have filters applied to it and text can be added on top of the image. There are a number of styles that can be selected for the text along with control over the text color.
Sharing Social Media Graphics from Adobe Post
After creating a graphic using Adobe Post it can be shared on social media with a single tap. The app includes an icon of an arrow in the upper-right corner, which provides a quick way to share any images that have been created or updated.
Remove Adobe Post watermark to delete #adobepost
All images created using Adobe Post include a watermark by default. You can remove the Adobe Post watermark by tapping to select and delete it from within the app. The watermark needs to be removed with each use, as there is no default option to remove the watermark..
Re-use existing Adobe Post graphics
Adobe Post Graphics can be re-used. When a post is created, it is then saved on Adobe’s servers. The files are NOT saved locally on the iPhone or iPad. By re-opening the previous posts they can be edited and re-used.
Additional Designs and Fonts for Adobe Post
For the cost of a shared tweet, additional capabilities can be unlocked. While Adobe Post is free, to access all designs and fonts Adobe requires a social share letting people know that you are using the app. By sharing Adobe Post for free, Adobe appears to hope that Adobe Post users may upgrade to Photoshop or buy stock photos,
