What to learn after Photoshop

After learning Photoshop, there are a number of skills to explore that will enhance your design skills, creativity, and productivity. Here our expert instructors have assembled  some of the skills you should consider after you have learned Photoshop:

Digital illustration is a good skill to learn after Photoshop. By learning how to create graphics and illustrations that can range from simple icons, charts, and graphs to logos and detailed illustrations, you can incorporate more complex visual elements into your designs. You can learn digital illustration by attending an Adobe Illustrator course.

Photo retouching and manipulation: With Photoshop, you can make subtle adjustments to images, such as removing blemishes, correcting lighting and color, and enhancing the overall look of a photo.

Learning graphic design is a useful skill after you learn Photoshop. Graphic design courses can provide the foundational skills for building more holistic designs that go beyond image editing. If you enjoy the design capabilities of Photoshop, you can learn how to improve your design for a variety of digital and analog projects..

Another skill to consider after learning Photoshop is user experience (UX) design. A UX designer plans, organizes, and designs websites, apps, and interfaces. The work of a UX professional goes beyond making attractive designs, as it also involves research, planning, and organizing content before starting the design process. UX designers also have the responsibility of preparing concepts and refining them through testing and collaboration. The UX process is iterative, requiring UX designers to have strong communication skills, be able to visualize their designs with tools like Photoshop, Illustrator, and Figma, and also work well with teams. While you can learn the basic principles of user experience design in two-day UX courses, more in-depth skills are required to work in the UX field.

Gaining presentation design skills is also another logical progression after learning Photoshop. You can attend a PowerPoint design course and learn principles for creating great looking presentations that communicate messages clearly and with impact. Learn techniques for using PowerPoint to create better looking designs, and how to integrate Photoshop artwork into presentations.

Whether you wish to move into digital design, presentation design, graphic design, or illustration, there are many options for you to pursue after learning Photoshop.
