How to filter data in Excel Charts

When you filter data in a chart, you can hide the display of the data series rather than remove it outright. Follow these steps to filter data in Excel charts:

  1. Click the Monthly Sales chart to select it.
  2. Click the Chart Filters button.
  3. Filter your charts to only display the series or categories you want.
  4. Click the check box adjacent to Erica to remove her data from the chart, and then click Apply. Erica’s data no longer appears in the chart.
  5. Click the Chart Filters button again to close the tab.
