

Youthworks Web Design
In this course you will learn how to build a website from the ground up. The workshop starts with learning to apply best practices in User Experience (UX) Design to help decide what should be included in your website, along with the location of images, text, buttons, and other content. You then learn some foundations of the code used to build websites: HTML and CSS. You will use those skills along with WordPress to create a completed website.

- Learn to use WordPress, the most commonly used website building platform.

- Learn how websites are hosted and setup by creating your own site using WordPress.

- Computer system: can be Windows, MacOS, or Chromebook
- Internet connection
- Pen or pencil
- Notebook
Prerequisites
You should have the ability to navigate your computer, save files, and connect to the internet for resources. You should have an idea of a website that you would like to create before starting this class. You can create something just for fun or look for an organization that might welcome the help towards creating a new website.
