How difficult is it to learn Premiere Pro

Adobe Premiere Pro is difficult to learn on your own because it includes a comprehensive set of tools in the complex craft of video editing. With capabilities to assemble video, text, still images, and create transitions, the learning curve for Premiere Pro is steep for beginners attempting to learn this video editing app on their own. Training resources from reputable schools like the American Graphics Institute can simplify the learning process and help users to quickly become proficient in Premiere Pro through intensive classes or bootcamps.

Why Premiere Pro difficult to learn

Those with no prior experience with video editing software or the Adobe Creative Cloud will find Premiere Pro challenging to learn. Before learning Premiere Pro, it is crucial to have prerequisite skills, such as basic computer skills, and at least a conversational  knowledge of video editing terminology. Those who try to step into using Premiere Pro on their own, without this background of fundamental video editing concepts, can struggle to understand the functions, and under utilize the capabilities of Premiere Pro. For users with no previous video editing experience, courses, workshops, and bootcamps offer a way to get up to speed on both Premiere Pro and video editing overall.

Training courses are a great option for those wanting to quickly learn Premiere Pro as they offer the opportunity to receive guidance from experienced video editing professionals. The introductory Premiere Pro course from the American Graphics Institute (AGI) covers video editing fundamentals, such as importing media, arranging clips on the timeline, and adding special effects and transitions. This course comes with a certificate of completion and can be taken online or in person at an AGI campus location.

Is it possible to learn Premiere Pro on your own

Teaching yourself how to use Premiere Pro can be time-consuming and confusing. Whether it’s trying to find the right functionality or option, or attempting to make edits through a process of trial and error, it takes substantial time and effort to learn Premiere Pro on your own. Self-taught Premiere Pro users also are likely to have difficulty learning more advanced techniques, such as masking, compositing, and color correction, without the guidance of an experienced instructor. These video editing functions are all taught in video editing courses and certificate programs.

While free resources can offer an introduction to Premiere Pro, they generally lack the depth, accuracy, and supportive learning environment provided by paid training resources. For example, AGI offers a variety of in-depth Premiere Pro training courses tailored to different skill levels and learning styles, which are up to date with the most current information, and delivered by live instructors that are experts in the field of video editing.

Classes for learning Premiere Pro

Enrolling in live Premiere Pro courses provides the opportunity to complete hands-on exercises and receive feedback on your work in real-time, as well as interact with expert instructors and other peers while you learn. Courses in Premiere Pro accelerate the learning process, covering a broad range of topics relating to Premiere Pro, video editing, and the production process, providing a well-rounded education.

There are several Premiere Pro courses led by live instructors that are offered both online and in-person for all skill levels. The introductory Premiere Pro course from AGI covers the video editing basics, navigating the interface, importing media, and working with graphics. If you already have some experience working with video editing software, An advanced Premiere Pro course teaches skills needed for matching frames, masking, integration with other related apps such as After Effects, and techniques used by professional video editors. An intensive four-day Premiere Pro bootcamp teaches introductory through advanced skills in a single week.

Training resources like those provided by AGI offer users who are new to Premiere Pro

an efficient and effective way to quickly gain video editing skills that are difficult or impossible to gain working independently. Whether you have some experience or are completely new to video editing, there are courses that can help you develop new skills and create professional video projects using Premiere Pro.
