Photoshop Certificate

The Photoshop Certificate program provides a solid foundation in digital imaging for digital artists who need to gain expert-level skills in manipulating and retouching images. This series of courses prepares you for using Photoshop in design and creative fields. You can start your Photoshop certificate program at any time with the rolling-admission program, with new classes starting monthly. The Photoshop certificate is available either online or in-person at AGI's classroom in Boston. All Photoshop certificate courses in both formats are led by live instructors. You can also attend the courses individually by enrolling in specific Photoshop courses.

Photoshop Certificate

The Photoshop Certificate Program is available on-line , in-person in Boston, or blended. You can start your Photoshop certificate program online or in Boston as part of our rolling-admissions process. New classes start every 45 days. If you prefer to start with an individual Photoshop course to try the program, you can later apply the coursework and fees from individual Photoshop courses to the Photoshop Certificate program. American Graphics Institute and the Photoshop Certificate have been approved for GI Bill benefits for in-person courses. Eligible participants can use their Veterans Affairs (VA) funds for the UX Certificate program.

Tuition for the Photoshop Certificate program is $2,885. Payment plans are available; call or submit an inquiry for details.

Using VA Education Benefits for Photoshop Training

American Graphics Institute and the Photoshop Certificate have been approved for GI Bill benefits. Eligible participants can use their Veterans Affairs (VA) funds for the Photoshop Certificate program in-person in Boston. VA Benefits are not available for online courses .

Photoshop Class - Introduction

This introductory Photoshop class teaches foundation skills for working effectively and creatively. Learn to be more productive and to create higher quality images efficiently. Gain skills for editing, retouching, and enhancing images. Learn how to make selective changes, color correct, and retouch your images using Photoshop. Photoshop Class - Intermediate

This intermediate Photoshop class covers more advanced use of Photoshop's tools, filters, and layers. Discover how to take advantage of a comprehensive range of creative effects. Learn to improve efficiency through the use automation features, such as actions, buttons, smart objects, and Photoshop's artificial intelligence capabilities.

Photoshop Class - Advanced

This advanced Photoshop class is for users who have already accomplished basic masking and retouching tasks in Photoshop. In this course attendees learn how to create complex composites, work at an advanced level with color correction, and build incredible masks.

Digital Imaging Project

This course consists of a practical project in which students apply the skills they have learned into a project that is selected by the student and reviewed by their instructor. The project starts with planning, meeting with the client, creating a creative brief, developing the product, client review and feedback, final delivery, and project review by the instructor.

Digital Imaging Portfolio

Students work with their instructor to select projects to showcase, create an online portfolio showcasing their talents, and discuss which works to show and how to present them. This workshop is designed to help you best create your online portfolio to showcase your skills and capabilities.

Photoshop Certificate Locations

You can attend the Photoshop Certificate online  or in-person. Additionally, a hybrid option is available, with some classes in-person, and others online. In-person courses are available in Boston, while online Photoshop Certificate participants can attend from anywhere with a broadband Internet connection.

All Photoshop Certificate courses are delivered by live instructors in small-group sessions, with most classes limited to 10 participants. This provides the opportunity to get questions answered, and work on projects with input and personalized attention from instructors.

The  instructors teaching Photoshop Certificate courses at AGI average more than a decade of experience that they bring to each class.

Photoshop Certificate Prerequisites 

No previous experience with the software tools is required to enroll in the Photoshop Certificate. For enrollment, the admissions team evaluates existing skills that are generally necessary for a professional career. These include communications skills and general computer skills.
If attending the Photoshop Certificate in-person, computers are provided at AGI’s classroom. If enrolling in the Photoshop Certificate and attending courses online, a computer capable of running the Adobe Creative Cloud apps is needed.

Course materials for Photoshop Certificate

All course curriculum materials are included with the program. The instructors teaching the Photoshop Certificate courses have authored more than 50 training books and use this extensive curriculum development experience to develop practical and detailed training curriculum and project files that are part of the program. The materials are designed to serve as a reference for use after class completion and include detailed notes, definitions, best practices and practical advice.

Night and Weekend Photoshop Certificate

American Graphics Institute offers some weekend and night courses within the Photoshop Certificate. These options are listed within the course schedules listed above, or contact us for a schedule of upcoming night and weekend dates. While some classes are available nights and weekends, other classes require weekday class attendance.

Choosing the right Photoshop Certificate

Although there are many Photoshop Certificate options, there’s a reason that American Graphics Institute is considered a top school for receiving a Photoshop Certificate. This includes expert instructors with many years of practical experience who have authored books, and have extensive teaching experience. Along with this, career services provided by a dedicated and experienced career counselor can help make the difference in securing an interview an landing a graphic design job. As part of the Photoshop Certificate there are required courses, most of which are two days or four nights in duration.

Courses in the Photoshop Certificate start with a foundational, introductory training before progressing into advanced topics. Even if you have previous experience, the introductory classes serve as a cornerstone for the future skills you learn. From there, you can move on to learn more advanced skills and concepts.

The delivery format for classes in the Photoshop Certificate  should also be considered as you decide which course to attend. Both in-person and online courses are led by a live instructor. AGI offers regularly scheduled live online courses which allow you to see the instructor’s screen, ask questions, and share your screen if you need assistance. You can also retake any course in the Photoshop Certificate program at no cost if you need additional practice or if you don't end up using your new skills right away. All courses in the Photoshop Certificate are offered at regularly scheduled dates, with most available every 30 to 45 days.
