Small class sizes provide a focused, encouraging learning environment for students of all skill levels. Class sizes in the summer programs for high school students range from 8 to 12 total, and the maximum student-to-teacher ratio is 8:1. Senior staff at American Graphics Institute started this unique program after receiving interest from their own children in the courses and workshops delivered at AGI. Summer programs are led by experienced professionals, and delivered in the same classrooms that are used for corporate professional development programs during the rest of the year.

Who can attend summer programs for high school and middle school students

The summer programs for high schools students and middle school students are open to those ages 12-18. While each program varies in the tools used, skills learned and projects created, each summer computer class is designed to develop technical and creative skills in a hands-on, project-based environment. Students include those interested in computers, technology, art, drawing, problem-solving, and other technical and creative activities. No prior experience is necessary for any of the summer programs. The summer programs are fun and interactive, but they are also focused on learning new skills. Each week long program is focused on learning news skills, and is not a camp-like environment. Participants should have an interest in learning news skills, and will be working in a professional environment.

Students in the summer programs for high school students learn from the same staff that teach corporate training programs. Our instructors are the authors of more than 50 best-selling books on design, publishing, and technology, including Adobe Creative Cloud for DummiesPhotoshop Digital Classroom, and HTML5 Digital Classroom. Instructors at American Graphics Institute average more than a decade of experience with the technologies they teach. Our summer programs for high school students and middle school students are run in the same training facility where AGI provides its corporate classes. American Graphics Institute's Woburn, MA facility is in a modern office complex, equipped with fiber Internet access.

Details about the summer programs for high school and middle school students

Each summer program for high school students takes place from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm, and runs for a full week, from Monday through Friday. Students may arrive as early as 9:00 am and must leave by 5:00 pm. Each program combines learning from an instructor, completing hands-on exercises, collaboration with classmates, and working on individual projects. Lunch is not provided and may be either brought from home and stored in the refrigerator, or purchased from the cafeteria in the adjacent building. A supervised trip to the cafeteria occurs each day. Light snacks and drinks are provided. Each course has its own fee, which ranges from approximately $500 to $600 for the week. See each course for specific costs.
